Micah Richards believes Erling Haaland has the talent and potential to outscore Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Haaland netted a second hat-trick in eight days as Manchester City beat West Ham 3-1 on Saturday.
The 24-year-old has now scored 70 Premier League goals in 69 appearances for City, while he has netted 263 times in 317 games for the Citizens, Norway, Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Salzburg, Molde and Bryn. Former City defender Richards believes Haaland can one day overtake two of the most famous goal machines in football, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Speaking to ufabet http://ufabet999.app Sports after Saturday’s game, Richards said:
” We know what he can do in terms of goals and assists. And sometimes he plays as a playmaker for the team. “Ronaldo as well, he started on the wing and then developed into a goalscorer, a centre-forward and his movement in the box.
“ But in terms of the numbers, particularly in the Premier League, what Haaland is doing now at this age is incredible.
It’s unbelievable. He’s clinical. “In terms of the numbers, there’s no reason why he can’t overtake [Ronaldo and Messi’s numbers], as long as he doesn’t get a serious injury. “We always have to talk about injuries because if he’s playing for a team like Man City.
Who are creating chances, he will get them.” Similarly, former Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp added: “263 goals in 317 games, if you think about it, it’s difficult.
“ Of course he’s playing in a great team and he’s creating chances for himself but it’s incredible. “ He’s phenomenal. He’s an incredible player to watch and he’s very different to the other two [Ronaldo and Messi] and I don’t think for one second we compare their styles. “But as a real goalscorer It’s very difficult to think of anyone who is as sharp and can score goals in every format.”
